The Gran Canaria Walking Festival is an international hiking event organised by the association Gran Canaria Natural & Active every year in October. The festival is sponsored by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through Turismo de Gran Canaria and is a different way of exploring the island's nature and rural accommodation.

This event has established itself as a benchmark for hiking in Gran Canaria, showing the interest of Canarian residents and people from mainland Spain and other countries in discovering the most fascinating corners of the island, as well as its gastronomy and its rich cultural, archaeological and ethnographic heritage.

About us

In 2004, the Gran Canaria Tourist Board, the Federation of Hotel and Tourism Businessmen and women of Las Palmas together with many other businessmen and women from the sector launched this ambitious project: Gran Canaria Natural & Active.

The purpose of this public and private initiative is to work together towards a joint marketing and promotion of the island of Gran Canaria as a nature destination, under the umbrella of a single organisation created to represent all the associated accommodation and activity companies.

Gran Canaria Natural & Active, the official brand of Gran Canaria Tourism, brings together under a single seal of quality the island's nature tourism offer comprising rural hotels, rural houses, tourist accommodation, activity companies, as well as establishments linked to the island's gastronomy, archaeology and culture, grouping together all the possibilities for exploring the most natural and authentic side of Gran Canaria through its wide range of accommodation and activities.
